Meet Dr. Kwon

Dr. Hyuk Sang (Al) Kwon is an American Board-Certified Periodontist with extensive experience in clinical practice, periodontal education, and advanced surgical care. He has built a distinguished career combining academic instruction with private practice, providing comprehensive periodontal and implant treatment while mentoring dental students and advancing clinical excellence.

Dr. Kwon earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Marquette University School of Dentistry and later completed his Master of Science with Certificate in Periodontics at University of Louisville School of Dentistry.

He previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Periodontics at both Marquette University School of Dentistry and Creighton University School of Dentistry. During his academic appointments, he simultaneously maintained active roles in private practice, delivering comprehensive nonsurgical and surgical periodontal care, including implant therapy and advanced periodontal procedures.

Dr. Kwon has also contributed to periodontal research through published work focused on peri-implant hard and soft tissue outcomes. Fluent in Korean, he is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care and advancing excellence in periodontics through both clinical expertise and lifelong professional development.
