| Judith V. Lane, D.D.S. Judith V. Lane, D.D.S., enjoys the challenge of all aspects of periodontics and places her primary focus on meeting the individual needs of each patient. She spends much of her appointment time getting to know her patients and their unique needs, helping them take control of their periodontal health. She offers advanced techniques in treating infectious periodontitis, aesthetic periodontal plastic surgery, and dental implants. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, Dr. Lane received her undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, and Dental Hygiene at Foothill Community College in Los Altos Hills, California. She practiced dental hygiene in Davis for three years before electing to pursue a degree in dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). After one year of general dentistry practice, she returned to UCSF for graduate education and certification in periodontics. While at UCSF, she was involved in clinical research and taught in the dental school. Following receipt of her certification, she practiced periodontics in the Bay Area. Dr. Lane joined Capitol Periodontal Group in 1990, adding a new dimension to the group and Sacramento in general, as she was the only woman periodontist in the Greater Sacramento area at that time. Continuing education is a significant part of Dr. Lane's practice, as she strives to stay at the forefront of the changing periodontal philosophies and techniques. She balances her commitment to her practice with active participation in the Sacramento District Dental Society and involvement in community programs, such as providing care to children and disabled adults. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontology, and Western Society of Periodontology. Dr. Lane and her husband, David, were married in 1981. They are both very involved with the active lifestyles of their children, and enjoy swimming, skiing and travelling together.
