Robin H. Berrin is a “people person” who enjoys the personal side of meeting and helping his patients.  He strives to understand each patient’s desires, circumstances, and needs and is proud to offer the latest innovative periodontal techniques for their care.  Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Berrin worked his way through the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) by selling tickets at Dodger Stadium and working as a dental assistant in the United States Air Force Reserve.

He attended UCLA for both his undergraduate education and for his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.  After practicing general dentistry for eight years and teaching removable prosthodontics and operative dentistry at UCLA, Dr. Berrin obtained specialty training and certification in periodontology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).  He also received certification in intravenous sedation for patient comfort.

Dr. Berrin brought wealth of experience to Capitol Periodontal Group when he joined in 1984.  He focuses on many areas of periodontology, including cosmetic periodontal plastic surgery, and both antibacterial and surgical approaches to treating infectious periodontitis.  To remain at the forefront of periodontics rapidly changing science and techniques, he devotes numerous hours to continuing education and participates in a local periodontal study group.  Dr. Berrin is actively involved in the community.  He lectures to local dental groups, is on the policy committee for a major insurance company, does clinical teaching at the Sacramento City College Hygiene program, and serves on Sacramento District Dental Society committees.  He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontics, American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, American Association of Dental Consultants, American Dental Association, California Dental Associaton,and the Sacramento District Dental Society.

Dr. Berrin married Susanne Leitner in 1978.  He enjoys Sailboat racing, skiing, and reading.  He and Susanne are devoted to their children’s success both in school and avidly support their school extracurricular activities including water polo.
